As the year ends, it is that time when we reflect and set goals for the future, especially around school improvement. With the world being challenged in so many ways economically, creativity must be the priority for development in education systems in each country; the solutions needed for a sustainable and successful future.
Creativity is the ability to bring something original and new into existence, something that is also appropriate, worthwhile and useful. If children are assessed and rewarded for creativity, their creative output actually increases, just as it does if they are encouraged to take risks or are allowed to follow the path of learning that enthralls them.

T.N.I.S. Girls' Cricket Team National Champions
After progressing through their preliminary games earlier this year to become Auckland Champions, the team were at Waikato University three weeks ago where they defeated the top ranked Northern and Central Districts Girls' Cricket Team. The win earned them a place in the New Zealand Cricket Shield final played in Palmerston North in the last week of November. Twelve very excited players flew down to the tournament on Monday. They were in camp at Massey University and played three gruelling 20/20 matches over two days.

T.N.I.S. Chess Team Australasian Champions
Our Chess Team, who won the New Zealand Chess Championships, have now won the Australasian Chess Championships for Intermediate and Middle Schools. The team travelled to Australia recently to compete in the competition. Congratulations to Winston Yao, Bella Qian, Hao Jia, Sean Yang and William Li for this fantastic achievement. A special congratulations to Bella Qian who was awarded Player of the Tournament. We are extremely proud of all these great strategic thinkers.
