T.N.I.S provides a range of exciting and interesting extra curricular opportunities. There are cultural opportunities; sports teams and other activities that students can join or take part in outside of scheduled timetabled classes.

Percussion Group

Percussion Group

Percussion Group involves found sound (using strange objects to make music) and traditional drums to create percussive patterns. We layer our sounds and use a variety of dynamics to create really lively sound! Students do not need to play a musical instrument to be in percussion group but they do need to have a good sense of rhythm and beat, be creative and confident on stage, be committed (percussion group is a whole year commitment) and be organised.

Jump Jam is a high-energy, fun fitness activity that runs in many N.Z. schools, including T.N.I.S. Mrs Wylde trains Jump Jam aerobic instructors to lead their teams in Fitness. The instructors learn the choreographed moves to upbeat music, and perform on stage for their fellow students to follow the routines.

Dance involves techniques and movements taken from a variety of dance genres such as ballet, jazz and modern dance. At T.N.I.S. our Dance group consists of a mixture of 18 Year 7 and 8 students. This dance group is student focused, with the dancers working together on choreography.
